Synopsis :
Is it possible to switch allegiance to a foreign club and become a fully-fledged fan in just a single season.
Disillusioned and frustrated with the rip-off of the British Premiership, Simon Rance steps off a plane in a foreign land and buys a season ticket to a club he knows nothing about and so the adventure begins...
Following the home games of the 2003/04 season, right up until the nail-biting cup final finish, Simon confronts suspicious Ultras, battles spiralling debt, meets the club Chairman, learns how to order a beer in French and grows to love a little place in Western France where watching a football match is considered a right not a privilege.
Our verdict :
A great idea for a book and with the funny writing style of Simon Rance this is a nice read for sure.
Why would someone from England buy a FC Nantes season ticket? I still don't understand, but Simon tries to explain and takes you with him on his journey's to France.
