After the 0-0 in Arnhem, there was everything to play for in the Playoff-semi finals for an Intertoto Ticket. In Nijmegen it was once again Vitesse that was better: 1-2. | The first half hour it was Vitesse that ruled in the Goffert. It did not lead to any big chances. It was Nec that scored first: Patrick Pothuizen (former Vitesse) scored a nice headed goal from a free kick.
Nec was not able to enjoy their lead for too long, 10 minutes later Fred Benson scored the more than deserved 1-1. Vitesse lead on away-goals.
At the start of the game it was expected that Nec would be fighting pasionnately for a place in the final, but it was Vitesse that kept ruling in Nijmegen.
In the second half Nec tried to force Vitesse on their own half, but it did not lead to anything more than a ball on the post. It was Vitesse that scored the 1-2 in the end of the game to send the away-fans in raptures. Next week FC Twente awaits.
