STOKE CITY - PORT VALE

ClubResultsStadiumReportsLinks
THE POTTERIES DERBY
Stoke City is the second oldest league club in England (behind Notts County) and they had some small success in the 70's. Because of this they are the 'big' club in town. Most of their history they played in higher leagues than their city rivals Port Vale and they had most of the local support.
During the 1990's Port Vale was promoted to the English First Division which made derby matches possible again. The matches are among the most tensed in the country and you can expect some serious disorder on a Stoke-on-Trent derby day.
