When the two biggest teams of the country meet you are guaranteed some fireworks. The city derby between Zeljeznicar and Sarajevo is the biggest match in Bosnia & Herzegovina.
No match can be compared with this one but also another city derby should be mentioned : the Mostar derby between Velez Mostar and Zrinjski Mostar. Just like in Sarajevo this is a derby with big political and national tensions. Also the matches between the Mostar and Sarajevo teams have some extra spice.
Matches between the Sarajevo clubs and Celik (Zenica), Sloboda (Tuzla) and Borac (Banja Luka) are also important, but it's probably the fans of the 'smaller' clubs who live up to these matches most. The biggest of these matches would be Celik Zenica - FK Sarajevo. |
