ZAGREB BLUES VS ZAGREB POETS
Matches between these two clubs are played from 1912, the year Croatian league had it's start. A lot of the past data is missing because of turbulent times in the area (archives were burned by communists in 1945). Dinamo is the big popular club (probably 90% of the city supports them) while the oldest club in Zagreb has to do with less support.

Table:
1. Dinamo Z 8 7 1 0 34 - 3 22
16. Zagreb 8 0 0 8 4 - 18 0

NK Zagreb's home is a stadium in Kranjčevićeva street (Stadium in Kranjčevićeva),with capacity of 8,850. The club's fans are known as the White Angels (Bijeli Anđeli in Croatian). The nickname of the club is "The Poets" (Pjesnici in Croatian; first mentioned by a radioreporter Ivo Tomić). Kranjčevićeva street, where their stadium is located, is named after Croatian poet Silvije Strahimir Kranjčević.

Is this a joke :?: , this not a derby match , this is not even a rivaly match  , NK Zagreb doesnt have ultra group and dinamo fans dont consider them as rival, on this matches in Kranjceviceva( zagreb stadium) there is more dinamo fans on main stand...... i would compare this derby something like Levski-Salvia, Lokomotiv, Steaua-Sportul Studensc or Zvezda-Cukaricki......

NK Zagreb looks to be a kind of Croat version of Velez Mostar without ultras.

And they won the league in 2002

  , where you see any connection betw. Zrinjski and Zagreb? Zrinjski have more titles, more fans, they are most supported club in city, etc....

They had fantastic generation in 2002 and they won it deservely, this club have big history, fantastic youth teams but they never become so popular among purgeri( people from zagreb), many dinamo fans cheers for Zagreb after dinamo....

Just for the politic aspect they look to be against all religion discrimination, they have a moon and a David's star pretty unusual and seemed to me closed to Velez attitude but I look to be completly out

Don't mean to spoil it to you but the star and moon are on Croatia's coat of arms as well as on that of the city of Zagreb and has nothing to do with Islam or Judaism

And obviously enough the Football club logo is modified version of that of the city. And here are the old logos before they switched colors to red:

It is? How on earth did you make that conclusion? This site at the time use the definitions based on geografic facts rather than terms of tension. Mainly because it´s more easy than go by emotions or what people think.

Rivaleries often can be far more hot than many city derbies. Like in the case with Dinamo-Hajduk or Manchester United-Liverpool just for mention two there fans have a bigger hate towards a club from an other city.

Down at the Balkans we don't make difference between the terms Derby and Rivalry :thump: We just call both of them derbies  This conversation has been all over the forum mostly around Hajduk-Dinamo matches
And yeah Levski-Botev and CSKA-Loko Plovdiv are way hotter than Levski-Slavia or CSKA-Loko Sofia  Infact most Botev fans would say that for them the match against Levski is bigger than that against local rivals Loko Plovidv
Just semantics of the word derby and mismatch of the meanings in English and Balkan languages.

When you look at the meaning of the word 'derby', it doesn't particularly say that the two teams who play in one are in the same city or region... it just says that it's a match between two rivals - most of whom are local, but the main thing is there is a rivalry between them.

With that in mind, it would seem that the English usage of the word is more than a bit misleading... You could call the rivalry between Manchester United and Liverpool the "Northwest Derby" for example, and there's lots of other similar ones. As Kris said, it doesn't matter whether the two rivals share the same city or even the same region... as long as there's at least some kind of rivalry between the two, it's a derby.

But, back to topic. NK Zagreb may raise their game for this one, but with only 1 point in 10 games I can't see anything other than a win for Dinamo.
